How we work
Here at Oakcrest Homes, we work with a workflow to suit the job and you the client but large or small, they often will follow a similar pattern.
Initial Contact
Initial Contact
For those who are unfamiliar with the process, Oakcrest can offer comprehensive advice in the form of a one to one consultation.
We like it if you or your architect is involved at an early stage as it gives us the opportunity to help you ensure that your project gets off on the right foot from the very beginning.
If you dont yet have plans, we can also recommend architects, planning advisors, surveyors or specialist trades to suit your project.
The Quote
The Quote
Building quotes are generally requested after planning permission (if required) has been awarded. Accurate plans to base our estimate on and can meet you or your architect and visit the site to gain a full understanding of your project.
Selecting a contractor is a critical point in a building project. Whilst we try hard to always be competitive, price should not be your only criteria.
We can always and are happy to provide references for similar jobs we have completed.
The Build
The Build
We will discuss a start date with you and let you know how long we expect the project to take.
We have to order materials and schedule our workforce so an initial payment is always needed to secure the job.
Changes to your original requirements are common. We will discuss these with you and give you a clear estimate of any anticipated additional costs. Payments through the period of the build are staged based on agreed work completed.
Completion
Completion, Handover and Aftercare
The job doesn’t end when the build is complete.
We provide a full handover and will return to attend to snags which emerge as you start to make use your new building.
For all new-build projects, we provide a user pack which includes full details of everything you need to know about your new equipment and building systems.
